The 12th year of the international competition. The event was held at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, Washington, USA, June 20 – 22, 2013.
This year’s competition theme highlights the role that ROVs play in the installation, operation, and maintenance of ocean observing systems. In addition to installing underwater “hubs” or nodes, students will have to design and build ROVs that can deploy scientific instruments, and remove biofouling organisms from existing equipment installed on the seafloor, among other tasks.
CMAss ROV Team placed 8th out of thirty high school team around the world.
